Jason Sirotin:
Hello, and welcome to the Greenstone Podcast. I'm Jason Sirotin, and today we're going to be talking about one of my personal favorites, that we happen to be growing right now, which is Wedding Crasher. So, Mr. Genetics, you really like this one, we've talked about it before. Tell me about this strain and what we grew. Mr. Genetics:
Yeah. Let's take a little walk.

Jason Sirotin:
Yeah, love it.

Mr. Genetics:
Wedding Crasher is a banger from Symbiotic Genetics. They put out Mimosa, they put out Banana Punch, Cherry Punch, all kinds of absolutely amazing new strains, and Wedding Crasher is another one of those. So, when you say Wedding Crasher, we're really describing a cross of Wedding Cake and Purple Punch. So, we know Purple Punch was an extremely exclusive cut of 808 Genetics that was gifted to The Village, which eventually that partnership became Symbiotic Genetics. And they kind of have their own thing going on, with a whole line based on that Purple Punch. And then, of course, that's crossed with the classic Wedding Cake. And by now, everyone has heard of Wedding Cake. What that really means is Triangle Mints #23, that's the real name of Wedding Cake. So, what does Triangle Mints #23 mean? Well, that represents these Junky Genetics and Cookies Family Genetics doing multiple collaborations ending in Wedding Cake.

Mr. Genetics:
So, Seed Junky originally had his Fire OG that he had been backcrossing over and over up until third generation, at this point. And one of the first collaborations he ever did with the Cookies Family was his Fire OG crossed with their original Girl Scout Cookies. And that makes his Animal Cookies. And anybody who's been following Seed Junky, or anybody who has their finger on the pulse of genetics in the community, knows that anything by Seed Junky current-day is extremely hot, because he's been officially bought out by Cookies Family. So, it's kind of like a major company going public for the first time.

Mr. Genetics:
So, now that he's made his Animal Cookies, as one of his first elaborations with Cookies Family, they decided to take that another step further and Seed Junky took his Animal Cookies and crossed it with Cookies Family's Thin Mint Cookies, which is actually a cross of their original Girl Scout Cookies and Blue Power, which goes back to Blue Dream. So, their second collaboration was the Thin Mint cookies crossed with his Animal Cookies and that produced Seed Junky's Animal Mint. And then, he decided to take it one step further and cross his Animal Mints with Triangle Kush, which is actually just the Florida-found pheno of OG Kush. So the third step, he crosses Animal Mint with that Triangle Kush and got Triangle Mint #23, which represents the 23rd pheno he found, and called it Wedding Cake. So that, crossed with 808 Purple Punch, makes the Wedding Crasher.

Jason Sirotin:
Oh, wow. How would you even remember all that? It's like the leg bone's connected to the ankle bone... I was blown away.

Mr. Genetics:
It's what I do.

Jason Sirotin:
Man that is... Mr. Genetics, they don't call you that for nothing, man. That was incredible. Holy shit. We've done a few podcasts today and he was like, "Wait until we get to Wedding Crasher's." So, that's awesome, man.

Mr. Genetics:
I'm not reading off anything right now, there's no monitor in front of me, I'm just speaking at large [crosstalk 00:03:15].

Jason Sirotin:
Come on, man. You're Mr. Genetics, what kind of... You'd be a fraud if you used paper. That's fascinating. I mean, the fact that such care went into making this strain. I mean, it's a really great plant. I just love the flower that comes off of it. Gary, what is your thoughts on Wedding Crasher?

Yeah. I mean, one of the things that we have recognized here at Greenstone, specifically with taking over this cultivation facility and working with some of the older genetics. It's been a pleasure to have some of the stronger genetics that they had in their library, because when you begin to work with strong genetics, you're not dealing with small stem diameter, with frailty. You're not dealing with PM issues, or perhaps some type of infestation of spider mites, or what have you. So, when you have a stronger genetic that performs well, it's easier on the grower. And if it's easier on the grower, that means we can focus on other specifics that are in fine-tuning, and making that flower even better than what it was. And that's the things that we really get excited about. We began to dip in and to experience the flower and to work with our nutrients, and to work with the environmental parameters to really get down exactly how this particular flower responds and what it likes most. And when we find out that, that means we can really push this flower, increasing the yields, increasing terpene production and THC levels.

Jason Sirotin:
Man. You guys are smart. You're wicked smart. That's awesome, man. I haven't tried this strain from Greenstone, but I'm really excited to when I'm there in a few weeks, so-

Yeah. We'll have some for you.

Jason Sirotin:
Oh, I'm really excited. Thank you so much for the time today, Mr. Genetics and Gary. On behalf of the Greenstone Podcast, I'm Jason Sirotin, and we will see you next time.
